The Broken mountain, Vodenicharsko village

The Broken mountain, Vodenicharsko village This is an interesting geological phenomenon that formed at the end of XIX century. It is a high hill cut through the middle, located on the left of the road to Vodenicharsko village and little before the beginning of “Chamlaka” reserve. The left part of the hill has moved away and sunk down 600m from the right side. The difference in the height is around 80m.

The caves near Kremen village In the area of Kremen village are designated few caves with different sizes. They are not very long (up to 170m) and formed in marble white stone. The cave fauna is interesting with bats, scorpions, centipedes and various rock formations like stalactites, dendrites and hangings. In one of the caves (Vodnata yama) there is a small lake with fish and in another (Zlatnata yama cave) traces of ancient life could be seen.

Location: Kirkovo
The centuries old oriental plane tree (Platanus orientalis), Fotinovo village The tree is located next to the church in the village. It impresses with its size – the trunk circumference is 6.2m and the crown is well preserved. The age of the tree is around 400 years. In 1979 was designated as a protected monument. A railing is placed around the tree.
The centuries old trees in the “Kedika” region near Raven village

Location: Momchilgrad
Before entering the village of Raven in the “Kedika” region could be seen 10-12 old winter oak trees. They are located near the Ibrahim baba turbe close to the asphalt road. They have only remained from an ancient forest that once covered the territory of Eastern Rhodopes and was described by the annalists as the Great Bulgarian Forest (Silva Magna Bulgarica). The trees are well preserved with impressive sizes and between 250 and 350 years old.

Location: Kirkovo
The centuries old winter oak (Quercus petraea sesiliflora), Benkovski village It is located in the yard of the mosque in the village. There were two trees, but one of them dried out. The age of the survived tree is around 200 years and its trunk diameter 4m. They were designated as protected in 1975.
