The centuries old winter oak (Quercus petraea sesiliflora), Medevci village The oak is located nearby the road to Benkovski village right after the bridge to Drianova glava village and before the turnoff for Medevci village. It is around 60m away on the right side of the road. It has impressive sizes and a well preserved crown – the trunk circumference is 6.5m and its age around 480 years. It is designated with a board, but is not fenced.

It could be reached following a cart road passing through the villages of Gruevo and Letovnik. In the picturesque landscape of a deciduous forest water is streaming down along a high rock corolla.
The Elephant

The Elephant It is an original eroded sandstone monument. It is located in the area of Kayaloba village around 300m after the kermes oak trees field in Dzhami mahle (the mosque quarter). It amazingly resembles the figure of an elephant especially if observed from the east. The elephant’s trunk shapes a hole that local people use as a healing passageway.

The European holly tree (Ilex aquifolium), Chakalarovo village The European holly tree is an evergreen shrub or tree that is not typical for the local flora. It is included in the Bulgarian Red Data book of rare species. It occurs in Strandzha mountain, Middle Rhodopes, Sredna gora, Belasica. In 1972 in the Eastern Rhodopes in the area of Chakalarovo village was found a new field of holly tree. In 1980 it was designated as protected with area of 1 decare. At that time the trees were 3m high and with diameter around 22sm.

The field elm tree (Ulmus minor campestris), Chakalarovo village The field elm is a tree with precious wood that is unfortunately almost extinct in Europe. The elm tree in Chakalarovo village is one of the few survived centuries old trees in good condition. In 1975 was designated as protected. The trunk diameter is 4.2m, its height 25m and the age around 300 years.
