It rises from Maglenik elevation located around 5km south of Avren village (that is why the river is also known as Avrenska river). Krumovica is named after the city of Krumovgrad as it flows through it. Its length is 59km. It flows into Arda river after Potochnica village at the foot of rocks of “Oreshari” protected site. The river bed at the outflow area is 300m wide shaping a spacious fertile valley. The water-collecting basin of Krumovica is with area of 671km2. It has big variations in the flow rate – from very high in February/March to almost drying in July-August (except some pools). Such complexes are located close to the town of Krumovgrad and the villages of Krilatica, Fotinovo, Gorna kula, Potochnica and others. The river waters are abundant of fish (carp, barbell, grey mullet, trout and others) and the sand and silence of the bays a suitable place for rest and fishing.
